While laying in bed last night, I was browsing around the app store and discovered the All Recipes iPhone app. I’ve been a fan of the AllRecipes.com website for quite a while. Their app is called DinnerSpinner, the concept is you spin the meal choice, then an ingredient choice and finally a preparation time choice. Ironically enough my day job has a client who wants to do something similar to this for their next website. Here’s a sample view of the spinner. I’ve selected Appetizer, Cheese and Slow Cooker. You can also click a button that says, “Spin Categories”. That button is currently replaced by the “View Matches” button.
On the day of the first big snow storm, I was in the dark room with my friend printing 11″ x 14″ black and white prints. My intention was to pick a select few and give them as Christmas presents. I then went to Michael’s and took advantage of their 50% frame sale and picked up two 16″ x 20″ frames, and then two 11″ x 14″ mats. This photo I took while in New Hampshire on Thanksgiving. It now hangs in our living room. This photo is from Maine earlier this year. We were up in Cutler Harbor when I snapped this shot. For my father in law’s birthday which is Dec 26th, my family decided to take a winter walk. At the end we took a group shot. It’s been several years since there’s been a photo of us all together. I decided to process the photo as a black and white with a high contrast. I like how deep the blacks were and the contrast to the white snow all around. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.
Shot from the window in my home office. The colors looked so amazing after 3 days of snow storms.

This is from the agency AKQA. I have no idea how much planning goes into getting these in the right order. Very cool!
While I’ve never had to work at an agency that this high pressured about a holiday greeting. I’ve been on other projects with the same intensity. Not sure who made this little parody but it’s pretty funny and good.
