Local Art

I’m pleased to have been invited to a local photographer’s gallery showing. It’s a funny story how I met Ted… I was in Southwest Harbor, ME last summer, shooting the harbor full of boats and getting eaten by mosquitos, when I overheard the other photographer say he was from Connecticut. We got chatting and discovered we only lived one road apart for a few years. I have yet to have a chance to take Ted up on going out for a photo walk, but I am very excited to be able to go see his photography at the Common Ground Caffe in Litchfield. If your in the area please take some time and go see his beautiful work.

Is there such a thing as perfect weather?

Yes! and I know because I experienced it today. Absolutely perfect weather. Sunny, no humidity, dark blue sky, light fluffy white clouds, and a nice breeze. You can not ask for a more perfect day. Oh yeah and it was a perfect 70 degrees. This is the kind of weather where you can work up a sweat and it’s taken a way by that nice breeze and you cool off again. It’s a beautiful lake, the state park is very nice, and generally it’s pretty quiet. We went up on Saturday evening, had some marshmallows over the fire, and then headed home. Sunday, we headed back up after church, and […]

Schaghticoke Road

I biked on this road on the 14th of August. I was so out of shape. Anytime there was a hill, or I had gone about 1000 feet on flat. I had to stop and drink water, and then also stretch my legs. I only made it past the big straight away. All tolled I did about 2.5 miles my first time biking down the road. Today, I biked 6.2 miles, did all the hills and didn’t have to stop, I plowed down straight aways, and got my heart going and was sweating quite a bit. I drank through my entire water bottle. I’m very happy that now 6 miles feels like a good workout but not over doing it. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for biking. It was overcast and cool, with a nice breeze. We saw […]
