It’s Raining… will it ever stop?

The weather this past June has been like living in Seattle. Ironically I just finished all four of the Twilight novels and Forks, WA weather sounded a bit cozy with all the gray days. Having now lived a month of primarily rainy days, I don’t think I could do it. We took it easy Sunday…

Onward to Maine

Saturday morning we opted to sleep in a bit, rather than our usual 4:30-5:00am departure. I was a bit cranky at first, but things got better. We had a few stops to make, the first being Freeport. In Freeport, we met up with my family. The usual stores of L.L.Bean and Cool-As-A-Moose were visited. Side…

The Barry Gibb Talk Show

This weekend Justin Timberlake returned to Saturday Night Live for his 3rd time hosting. As usual the skits were incredibly funny and talented. The Barry Gibb Talk Show skit is absolutely hilarious and he teams up with Jimmy Fallon.

Sunset at Topsmead

Last weekend Craig and I picked up sandwiches and headed up to Topsmead State Park for a walk and to enjoy the sunset. The last time we were up there, I drove my car through a good foot+ of mud and there was snow/ice mounds. Now the grass a luscious green, the plantings haven’t come…

Photo Shoot: Harkness Memorial Park

Several weeks back my photography friend’s, Shanna and Kelly, decided it had been too long since our last photography field class. Sadly enough, Shanna couldn’t make it today, but Kelly and I headed over to Harkness Memorial State Park to shoot photos. I went to college on this side of the state and discovered this…

Spring has sprung

It was wonderful to see color this past weekend. The grass is starting to go from shades of pale green and brown to lush green. The trees are still bare but I can’t wait for the buds to start coming.

In Line

I saw these line of trees and felt they needed to be in a photo. If I had my tripod I would have gotten in the shot too, but it was fun with my family lining up down the row.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all who celebrate. Craig and I went to a family brunch a few towns over. It was nice to catch up with them and I was able to hand out the copies of a black and white photo I printed in January of Craig’s cousin and her newborn. After brunch, we headed…

Support the Librarians in your life

National Library Week is April 12-18, 2009, which ironically is Spring break for most schools. Becoming a librarian takes quite a bit of schooling. To work in most public libraries and private jobs you’ll need to have earned a Masters in Library Science. To work as a School Library Media Specialist, a person needs their…

Piggybacking Ideas – Ok?

I’m not sure what the internet etiquette is for piggybacking on ideas. Sometimes I feel like I’ve lived two lives, and when I read someone’s post it triggers that memory and then I want to share it. But I don’t want to seem like I’m always just saying, “oh yah I’ve done that too”. Even…

Healthy Bytes

I can’t remember exactly when I discovered Colin Devroe’s The Diet page, but at one point I joined and after sharing my progress with my friends, they wanted to join in too, but didn’t want to use their regular blogs. I decided to create our own site to log our progress, keep up motivation and…

HDR Photographer Video

I really enjoy HDR photography and I’m a sucker for clouds. So this video meets two of my loves. It is unquestionably beautiful.

RDX Wall Art

This reminds of A-Ha’s Take On Me video.

Local Art

I’m pleased to have been invited to a local photographer’s gallery showing. It’s a funny story how I met Ted… I was in Southwest Harbor, ME last summer, shooting the harbor full of boats and getting eaten by mosquitos, when I overheard the other photographer say he was from Connecticut. We got chatting and discovered…

Today is one of these days…

Today is one of these days… I feel the same. (Illustration by Alex Noriega) (Via swissmiss.) I can definitely relate to this and have certainly felt this many a day.

Today’s Bike Ride

Earth Hour 2009

We participated in Earth in 2009, on March 28th. We held a movie night at the Quaker Meetinghouse and then turned off the lights to have a candlelit discussion. We showed the movie Wall-E, which seemed appropriate to lead up to a talk on how to help the planet. We had a good turn out.…

The Diet

A year and several months later after putting my back out quite severely I’m feeling well enough to take on a consistent exercise routine. Turning 30 also put a bit more fuel on the fire as well. Life’s too short to not enjoy every bit of sunshine I can get, breath fresh air and do…

Light Art Performance Photography

This is one of several amazing pieces of photography via, Light Art Performance Photography’s website. Their work is beautiful and inspiring. I love long exposure photography. Please go visit their site to see all their incredible work. On a side note, I liked the music so much I bought it as well. It’s by James…

A drive through the White Mountains

This video is a little late. Back in November we headed up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire for Thanksgiving. It also coincided with being 10 years to the day we got engaged while up there. This year, I ended up getting very sick after only one day up there and spent most of…
