Richard St. John: Secrets of success in 8 words, 3 minutes
I love the acronym for CRAP. Must post that somewhere.
Encased
This was on Wednesday during the ice storm. The one thing I don’t have yet for my Canon XTi is a macro lense. In the meantime I’ve been using my Canon SD550 and it’s macro mode. I really enjoy shooting branches covered in ice. There’s something magical about it, to me.
Cold
I shot this photo with a Canon SD550 after the ice storm we had earlier this week. I loved how the sun shining on the ice coated on the trees. I did do post process work in Adobe Lightroom 2. I used the selenium process option along with a light vignette.

Photographing Lincoln
I had the opportunity to meet the newest family member to my in-laws. Lincoln would be my niece-in-law. The lighting was perfect, afternoon sun through a big bay window with sheers, making for perfect diffused light. I am not a big gushing baby person, but I love capturing their expressions. On the day of the first big snow storm, I was in the dark room with my friend printing 11″ x 14″ black and white prints. My intention was to pick a select few and give them as Christmas presents. I then went to Michael’s and took advantage of their 50% frame sale and picked…

For my father in law’s birthday which is Dec 26th, my family decided to take a winter walk. At the end we took a group shot. It’s been several years since there’s been a photo of us all together. I decided to process the photo as a black and white with a high contrast. I…

A Holiday Card, Charlie Brown
While I’ve never had to work at an agency that this high pressured about a holiday greeting. I’ve been on other projects with the same intensity. Not sure who made this little parody but it’s pretty funny and good.
